The Cottages at Seabright Farm is host to one of the the best spots for Point Roberts explorers. Just off of APA at the end of Pauls Road is a small, unassuming parking area. This is the entrance to a public trail. While the walk is short, you’ll soon be faced with quite the challenge. 194 Stairs down to the beach. Don’t worry though. There are plenty of landings on which you can stop to take a breath, or just take in the view.
The stairs themselves strike a crucial balance between blending in with the landscape and remaining clean and well kept. As they’ve aged, the stairs have only become better integrated with the nature around them. The structure is also very solid. Being only about half a decade old there’s no need to worry about precarious construction or rotting wood.
Once your descent is complete, you’ll be met with one of the best beach locations on the peninsula. While the bluffs here might not be comparable in scale to Lily Point, they’re arguably just as beautiful. Lily Point might get great sunrises, but being on the east side it won’t get an equivalent glowing sunset to the one you see here.
While not for the faint of heart, the structure also presents one of the best exercise opportunities on the Point. If you’re willing to scale them more than once you can get quite the workout.
If you want to bring your dog, have no fear. There are dog bags at the entrance to the trail.
No matter how you wish to experience them, one thing is for certain. The stairs at Seabright Farm are a must-see for any visitor or resident of Point Roberts.
